Preparing for Your Visit
Ensuring We Have Your Pet’s History
To provide the safest care, Dr. Colin must review your pet’s recent medical history before the consultation. We will coordinate directly with your primary veterinarian to obtain all necessary records, X-rays, and blood work results.
While we handle this outreach, primary clinics can occasionally be slow to respond. To ensure we have everything ready for your appointment, it is very helpful if you can confirm with your regular veterinarian that they have sent your pet’s records to us at least 48 hours prior to your visit.
Fasting and Same-Day Procedures
We strive to be as efficient as possible with your time. If a same-day procedure was discussed with you at the time of booking, it is essential that your pet arrives fasted to ensure they can safely undergo anesthesia.
Even if a same-day treatment was not explicitly planned, some clients choose to fast their pet “just in case.” If the consultation reveals an issue that requires immediate attention, having your pet already fasted provides the flexibility to move forward that afternoon without having to schedule a return visit.
